ICOIN 2021 Online Conference
UIC 2021
The 2nd International Workshop on Ultra-Intelligent Computing/Communication (UIC 2021)
IMPORTANT DATES
Call For Papers

The information technology revolution is rapidly changing our daily lives. Breakthroughs in computing and telecommunications, based on information, communication and control theory, Turing’s computational model, and powerful processors, are dramatically boosting productivity. Emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are bringing a new information revolution.

As big global research world look to AI to boost technological innovation and economic development, this workshop focuses on three key issues in AI research — autonomous and sensing systems, emergent intelligence, and collaborative and swarm intelligence. Specifically, this workshop is dedicated to harnessing the novel properties of super materials to develop devices that extend our senses, and with real-time collection of massive data, supporting autonomous decision-making based on multi-source big data. Intelligent cognition strives to develop collaborative autonomous agents with cognitive capabilities, like those of humans, by simulating the neural mechanisms of cognitive behaviors, and to enhance the capabilities of processing big data and developing brain-like intelligence. Another focus is the collaboration between biological, mechanical, and electronic systems, as well as the mechanisms of self-organization and emergence for multi-agent collaboration and decision-making. Researchers hope to optimize integration and collaboration between humans and machines. The workshop promotes their transfer into practical applications, for developing intelligent ICT systems and pursuing artificial intelligence applications for contents, platforms, networks and devices.

The second International Workshop on Ultra-Intelligent Computing/Communication (UIC 2021) aims at addressing advances in research on ICT, covering topics ranging from ICT technology issues to emerging AI applications for ICTs. UIC 2021 solicits original, unpublished contributions in all aspects of AI in information and communication. Submitted articles must not be concurrently considered elsewhere for publication. We also encourage authors to submit short papers on the early stages of research or development in progress, which present important new challenges. Position papers on new idea and industry papers are also welcome.

The workshop focuses on topics related to ultra-intelligent computing and communication, which include, but are not limited to

  • Information and Communications Technology
  • AI for Image Processing and Multimedia
  • AI Applications for Networking and IoT
  • AI for Control and Decision Systems
  • AI Applications for Mobile Communication
  • AI for Energy, Computer Systems and Semiconductor Device
  • AI for Data Analysis, Big Data and Cloud
  • AI for Neuroscience and Neuroengineering
  • AI for eHealth
  • AI Foundation
Submission Instructions

ICOIN 2021 workshops invite the submission of original, unpublished research work (including position papers) that is not currently under review elsewhere.

Authors are invited to submit a full paper (5~6 pages) or a short paper (3~4 pages) electronically as PDF files using the IEEE conference template which are available at https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html. The link for paper submission through EDAS is https://edas.info/N27471 with track name 'UIC'. All submitted papers are subject to peer reviews by Technical Program Committee members. All accepted papers for presentation in the conference will appear in the proceedings of ICOIN 2021. More details about the submission and publication process including formatting instructions will be available at the conference website, http://www.icoin.org
